5 Reasons Why We Love Our New Suitcases
Jesús and I recently agreed to collaborate with LOJEL, a Japanese luggage brand that’s committed to style, quality, and ethical manufacturing - the trifecta of characteristics that I’m constantly seeking out in the goods that I invite into my life.
Even though I’m sharing about them now following a paid partnership, this blog post was not paid for or even requested by LOJEL in the slightest. When Jesús and I worked with LOJEL, we simple didn’t expect to fall in love with their goods as much as we did (luggage, backpack and the packing accessories that they sent), and now that we’ve tested everything out for ourselves, I just wanted to send out the endorsement that I think they deserve by sharing why I love them.
Here are the reasons why we’re so into our new LOJEL suitcases.
Or in other words, here are the features that would stand out to us, if we were considering new luggage. Because traveling with quality luggage is something that truly matters to us.
The Color of these babies caught our eye because we knew that a unique and vibrant color would surely stand out in baggage claim and make the process of leaving the airport easier and faster. Plus, this sexy terracotta color is my very favorite these days - so I was excited to see it represented so well on luggage.
There’s No Exterior Zippers! This one’s Jesús’s favorite feature in particular. He loved the latches on each side of the bags because they’re quick and easy to close, and prevent any frustrating zipper snags on our clothing inside. Bonus points - there’s a 3-point locking system on the latches: a TSA-approved combination lock on the largest latch, and two smaller slider latches - so our goods felt nice and safe when we checked in our bag.
The Sleek, Durable, Minimalist style stands out as a fashion statement, and you can truly notice the quality in the way they’ve been designed and crafted even at a glance. I was plesently surprised to find that there weren’t any large, visible scuff marks on our suitcase’s exterior after recieveing it on the other end of baggage claim.
Thoughtful Details like the feet on one side, multiple inner pockets, secure straps for packing and sturdy interior lining. We loved the feet feature in particular because the ability to set the suitcase on its side feels like something so small, yet so convenient. Makes packing or storing the suitcase easier.
Secure Handles on the top, side and back of the bag. When I pack the suitcase full, and lift it up from the top handle, the spring loaded feature prevents the handle from bending or pulling on the exterior of the bag in a way that makes me feel like it might come detached. All the same, when I’m pulling the heavy bag along, the retractable side handle feels super secure and locked in place.
Of course, like most other quality check-in luggage brands, their bags also contain a ton of room, the wheels make for a smooth ride and our stuff feels like it’s kept nice and safe in the hard case.
I think I should also disclose that I’ve formed these opinions in organic comparison with another popular, bougie, hipster suitcase set that I own as well. Simply based on our last trip and experience with these new pieces, I think it’s easy to say that LOJEL has won out as our favorite.
Happy travels, my friend!
